MEET OUR OFFICERS

OUR TEAM

Jeffrey Liu

Co-President

Jeffrey Liu is a senior at Amador Valley High School. He has been participating in PLAY for over five years, beginning as a PLAY Math 4th grade teacher and joining PLAY Leadership as a Youth Leader soon after. Now, he is President of PLAY Math. In his free time, Jeffrey enjoys drawing, street photography, playing videogames, and going out with friends whenever possible. This year, he hopes to tie PLAY together on not only a community service goal level, but as people. Furthermore, he hopes to integrate more fields of study into PLAY’s subgroup catalogue to better educate the community.

Daniel Liao

Daniel is a senior at Dougherty Valley High School. He has been involved with community outreach programs in math and volunteering since 2023. Outside of PLAY, he likes to play and watch soccer, take photos, and eat. This year he hopes to establish connections with other organizations and work closely with the community.

Lily Yuan

Co-President

Lily is a senior at Amador Valley High School. She has been a member of PLAY since 2019, participating in events such as garage sales, food packaging and distributions, gardening, face mask refurbishings, and donations. She is the co-founder of the PLAY Language Arts subgroup and president of the PLAY Speech & Debate subgroup. In her free time she enjoys playing tennis and helping the community through various volunteering and service events. She looks forward to being a part of PLAY as it continues to grow.

Jasper Ding

Jasper Ding is a senior at Dougherty Valley High School, and has been volunteering since 2022. He has been teaching grades 5-6 in the PLAY Math Subgroup, and is currently one of its Co-Presidents. Outside of PLAY, he enjoys playing sports like basketball & volleyball, hanging out with friends, and competing in robotics. This year as the financial vice president, he hopes to expand the organization’s outreach, secure funding, and ensure finances all run smoothly.

Selina Lai

Selina Lai is a senior at the Quarry Lane School. She has been a PLAY member since 2020, and serves as the co-president of PLAY Language Arts and the Editor-in-Chief of PLAY Times. As Organizational Vice President, she aims to keep internal communication running smoothly for an amazing school year.

Ryan Li

Chief Marketing Officer

Ryan Li is a junior at Amador Valley High school who has been active within PLAY Leadership since 2021, participating in numerous volunteer events including supply distributions, performances for the elderly, food packaging, gardening, and more. He has served as a youth leader, an event coordinator, and Outreach Officer in the past at PLAY while also serving as the Co-President of the PLAY Tutoring subgroup over the past 2 years. Outside of PLAY, Ryan enjoys kung fu, debate, programming, and competitive math. This year as the Chief Marketing Officer, Ryan hopes to expand PLAY’s outreach across his community and help even more people through service events, fundraising, and tutoring.

Allen Li

Allen Li is a junior attending Amador Valley High School. As the Chief Community Officer, he hopes to use his 6+ years of experience at play to help others succeed at PLAY Leadership. Besides his work in the organization, he enjoys playing music and badminton.

Allison Zhang

Allison is a junior at Albany High School and has been involved with PLAY since 2022. Through PLAY, she has enjoyed volunteering at events such as food packing, assembling and distributing care packages for people experiencing homelessness, visiting seniors at care facilities, and helping out at community gardens. She also serves as the president of PLAY Tutoring, where she helps lead the program and support its growth. In her free time, Allison enjoys spending time with friends, volunteering, and baking. She looks forward to continuing to make a positive impact and helping PLAY grow in the years ahead.

Anna Zhu

Anna Zhu is a sophomore at Dougherty Valley High School. She has been volunteering with PLAY since 4th grade, and is currently a part of PLAY Times and PLAY Speech and Debate. She enjoys managing senior center performances, distributing necessities to the unhoused, and teaching speech and debate classes. In her free time, she also enjoys writing stories and poems, drawing, and reading. Her personal goal is to create more connections between subgroups and expand PLAY’s reach in the community by catering to individual interests.

Athena Wang

Outreach Officer

Athena Wang is a sophomore at Dougherty Valley High School. She has volunteered at PLAY for 6 years now, and is serving this year as an Outreach Officer. She has distributed food to the unhoused, gardened at Fertile Groundworks, volunteered at Alameda County Fairgrounds, performed piano at senior centers, tutored English, written for PLAY Times, and much more. Her hobbies include art, reading, writing, and music. Her personal goal is to sustain PLAY’s longevity, maximize community impact, and increase opportunities for youth to participate in community service.

Jerry Yi

Outreach Officer

Jerry is a sophomore at Monte Vista High School and serves as an Outreach Officer. He has been volunteering for PLAY for the past seven years, participating in events like PLAY Music, backpack drives, and food packaging. He has also been a part of the PLAY Times team for the past three years. Outside of PLAY, he enjoys riding bikes, playing and watching soccer, and playing the piano. This year, he hopes to broaden PLAY’s outreach, deepen community engagement, and expand PLAY’s online presence.

Andy Deng

Andy Deng is a junior at Amador Valley High School. He has been involved with the PLAY tutoring subgroup for 1 year. Outside of PLAY, Andy enjoys swimming competitively, spending time with friends, and playing the cello. As an outreach officer, he hopes to contribute to PLAY Leadership’s growth by strengthening its presence on social media and within the Bay Area.

Anna Zhang

Anna is an 8th grader at Albany Middle School. She has been a part of PLAY since 2022, participating in events such as senior center performances, food packaging, and assembling care packages for people experiencing homelessness. She is the Treasurer for PLAY Tutoring, and she has been tutoring students for 2 years. Anna loves playing piano, drawing, and spending time with friends. She looks forward to helping PLAY organize as an Event Coordinator.

John Chen

Hey there! My name is John Chen, and I’m a sophomore at Dougherty Valley High. I’ve been volunteering at PLAY for the past 3 years, and I currently occupy the Event Coordinator position. I’m also the teacher for the 2nd graders at PLAY Math. Outside of PLAY, I’m an avid Scouter, having attained Life Rank (second highest rank, behind Eagle!). I also particularly enjoy musicals and the wild. I’m looking forward to organizing and, well, coordinating some awesome events for y’all this year!

Ethan Feng

Event Coordinator

Ethan Feng is a freshman at Dougherty Valley High School. He’s been around PLAY since 2023 and has been teaching 2nd Grade in PLAY Math since 2025. This year as Event Coordinator he hopes to help expand PLAY both through organizing and bringing PLAY to public events. Outside of PLAY he enjoys 3D design, writing stories, music, and sim racing.

Rita Yuan

Youth Leader

Rita Yuan is a 6th grader at Harvest Park Middle School and has been involved with PLAY for five years. As a Youth Leader this year, she hopes to help more people and encourage more students to join Play Leadership. She has participated in a wide range of community-service activities, including backpack drives, crayon and bottle sorting, music performances at a senior center, garage sales, hiking-trail cleanups, giving gifts to seniors, and providing food and gifts to people experiencing homelessness. Outside of service, Rita enjoys playing tennis and the violin.

Chloe Yi

Chloe Yi is an 8th grader at Diablo Vista Middle School and has been involved with PLAY for the past six years. She has participated in music performances for seniors, EcoEarth projects, weekly online English tutoring, and other volunteer activities. She is also a co-founder of the PLAY Soccer subgroup. Outside of PLAY, Chloe enjoys playing soccer, piano, and flute. As a Youth Leader, she hopes to support younger volunteers and become a more confident leader while giving back to the community.

Jason Lai is an 8th grader that goes to Quarry Lane. He has volunteered at  PLAY for 4 years now. He is serving this year as a Youth Leader. He has been in lots of activities like backpack drive, garage sales, music performances to seniors, and more. His hobbies include  playing the saxophone, gaming , and playing soccer. His personal goal is to help make PLAY into a bigger organization and expand its community.

Zoe Zhao

Zoe is an 8th grader at Diablo Vista Middle School and has been in PLAY for the past six years. She has participated in EcoEarth projects, gardening, music performances, and many more. She is also a co-founder of the PLAY Soccer subgroup. Outside of PLAY, she likes playing soccer, basketball, piano, clarinet, and doing arts and crafts. As Youth Leader, she hopes to make PLAY more diverse and welcoming, and try to involve new ideas to PLAY.
