Promoting Leadership in Aspiring Youth
Elisa Zhang is a sophomore at Dougherty Valley High School. She is part of the math subgroup and actively participates in PLAY’s volunteer activities. Outside of PLAY, she enjoys spending time with friends, listening to music, and dancing. She is excited to work with members of PLAY and looks forward to helping the organization grow this year.
Cindy Zhao is a sophomore at California High School. She has been part of the PLAY Math subgroup since 2021 and has attended a variety of volunteer events. In her free time, Cindy enjoys dancing, playing the violin, and cooking. She is a member of her school Chamber Orchestra and golf team, and is actively involved in various science clubs. She is excited to see PLAY grow and reach more communities in the upcoming year.
Erika Yu is a senior at Amador Valley High School. She has been a member of PLAY since 2017, and has served as the Internal Vice President and Secretary. Within PLAY, Erika is the subgroup leader of PLAY Speech & Debate. Outside of PLAY, Erika is the co-president of Amador’s Speech & Debate club. She enjoys drawing, listening to podcasts, and volunteering in her free time. As the External Vice President, Erika aims to help PLAY continue to grow and expand its reach.
Hey there! I’m Oscar, this year's Organizational Vice President. I’ve been a part of PLAY for 6 years now, from when I was just a member of PLAY Music, to now also being the subgroup's leader. At school, I'm the captain of the Badminton Team, and a Section Leader for Amador's Marching Band. In my free time, I enjoy listening to all kinds of music, playing badminton, building electronics, and creating random documentaries and video essays. I'm excited to see the ways PLAY will continue to grow!
Joyce Li is a sophomore at Amador Valley High School, and has been in PLAY since 2018 through managing and participating in events for PLAY Music. Outside of volunteering, she has been drawing for several years, and has won awards for artwork she submitted to the Scholastic Art and Writing contest. Joyce enjoys playing badminton, and is active in the AVHS school team. As an event coordinator, she is responsible for planning and carrying out PLAY’s events. She is excited to see how PLAY will expand, and is ready to continue helping it grow.
Henry Hong is a senior at Amador Valley High School. He has been an active member of PLAY Leadership for the past five years: organizing events, leading the reading and science subgroups, and managing PLAY Leadership’s social media. He formerly served as an Event Coordinator from 2018-2019, an Outreach Officer from 2019-2020, and the Chief Marketing Officer from 2020-2021. At Amador, he is an officer of the Mock Trial Team and principal alto and soprano saxophonist of his school Wind Ensemble and saxophone quartet. Henry enjoys volunteering, competing in kendo, and exploring physics. He looks forward to leading the officer team and expanding PLAY’s opportunities!
Lily Yuan is an eighth grader at Harvest Park Middle School. She has been a member of PLAY through events such as garage sales, food packaging, clothes distributions, as well as music performances since 2019, and is a co-founder of the PLAY Language Arts subgroup. Outside of PLAY, some of her hobbies include art, tennis, reading and writing. As a youth leader, she hopes to engage in more events with fellow PLAY members and together help PLAY grow.
Leo Yu is a Junior at Dougherty Valley High School. He has been leading and organizing a few events in PLAY. He is also an active member of PLAY Art. Leo enjoys volunteering, and in his free time, He enjoys playing the piano, composing music, and fencing(sport). He is looking forward to helping and organizing more events in PLAY in the future.
Nicholas Chang is a senior at Dougherty Valley High School. He has organized and led many PLAY events throughout his time as outreach officer and vice president in previous years. He also leads the PLAY Kung Fu subgroup. He enjoys practicing kung fu, reading books, programming, and volunteering in the community. He has been practicing kung fu for over 12 years, and is on the US Kung Fu National Team. As a co-president this year, he hopes to help PLAY grow even more and looks forward to working with PLAY members to achieve another successful year!
Raymond Zhang is a senior at Foothill High School. At PLAY, he leads the Animal Shelter program, Christmas Shoebox program, and Kids Against Hunger program. Outside of school, he enjoys playing drums in band.
Miharu (Shirley) Fukuda is a sophomore at Amador Valley High School. She has been active in PLAY for over four years now. Being a part of PLAY music, one of her talents is playing the piano. She also enjoys playing badminton and baking in her free time. She looks forward to a exciting year for PLAY and is ready to help expand the foundation and work with more people.
Danny Liu is a Junior at Dougherty Valley High School. He has been a PLAY since 2017, teaching for PLAY math since 2019. In his spare time, he enjoys playing golf, eating good food, and studying at the library. Danny aims to assist PLAY through his duties as CMO this year.
Michelle Li is a junior at Dougherty Valley High School. She was a Youth Leader in 2021-22 and is currently a subgroup leader for PLAY Math where she has been teaching since 2020. Outside of school, Michelle practices the French horn and prepares for math and computing competitions. In her free time, she enjoys swimming, doing arts and crafts, and playing video games. In the coming year, she hopes to help PLAY grow by organizing more events and volunteering opportunities as an Event Coordinator.
Isaac Wen is a sophomore at Dougherty Valley High school. He is the vice president of the PLAY Kung Fu subgroup and enjoys working with kids. In his free time, he likes to practice Kung Fu, play video games, and read books. Isaac has been practicing Kung Fu for over 9 years and participates in many competitions. He is looking forward to inspiring others and helping PLAY reach new heights.
