Promoting Leadership in Aspiring Youth
PLAY Leadership, partnering with Hello Angels Foundation, gave out backpacks, suitcases, tents, tarps, blankets, clothes, shoes, hand sanitizers, underwear to the unhoused in San Jose on June 26th. All of the supplies were collected from our community and purchased with the funds raised from the PLAY annual garage sale and teaching different classes.
Just before our scheduled donation give-away, a fire took the trailer homes of ten of the unhoused. Fortunately, PLAY youth brought tents bought with the money we earned from our annual garage sale. Every one of our unhoused neighbors waited patiently in line for PLAY members to finish sorting before receiving supplies, even in the sweltering heat!
